Approved as a teaching and learning resource for the subject Syriac Orthodox Religious Education at primary schools, lower secondary schools (Hauptschulen), Werkrealschulen, Realschulen, community schools, and grammar schools (Gymnasien) in the Federal Republic of Germany. These religious textbooks are designed on the basis of the Syriac Orthodox curriculum of 2016 in Germany.

Novel "Und plötzlich war es still"

With their collaborative work “Und plötzlich war es still” (And suddenly there was silence), the students of Dr. Engel Secondary School in Eislingen offer surprising and impressive insights into individual fates: We accompany David, Mirijam, and the other protagonists on their escape from chaos and violence to Germany, accompanying them on their external search for security, on the fine line between assimilation and integration, but also in their internal struggle with the loss of their homeland and the issues of dictatorships, radicalized ideologies, global war, terror, destruction, and displacement. This book fascinates and moves the reader from the very first page and is a gripping and highly recommended read, especially for young people, particularly when used in school lessons.
